French term

comme à l'apport du droit au crédit bail à toute société

French to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) Leasing agreement
Full phrase is: Les stipulations qui précedènt s'appliquent à tous les cas de cession, sous quelque forme que ce soit, comme à l'apport du droit au crédit bail à toute société, que cet apport soit fait à une société nouvelle ou à une société préexistante.

From a property leasing agreement. Can't seem to get to the bottom of this one.

as well as to transfers to any company of a leasehold right in a lease with a purchase option

the reason being that a lease with a purchase option is a 'cession' or sale, once the option to purchase the property is exercised. It is not correct to translate 'credit bail' as 'lease', especially here. Note that 'tout comme' here is not 'such as', meaning 'for instance', but rather 'as well as to', the sentence being: "The foregoing provisions apply to all transfers and sales of any kind whatever, as well as to transfers to any company of a leasehold right in a lease with a purchase option...". Note that the term 'leasehold right' (see Black's) is not quite the same as the French 'droit au bail' (see that term in Wikipedia), but it's the closest English term we've got. One could also probably replace 'a leasehold right' with 'an interest' in the above sentence and it would still work, and sound better.

such as transfer of the right to lease to any other company

I am assuming that the context is a series of conditions that apply to a lease agreement. In the event that these may grant the landlord certain rights under certain conditions, these conditions apply also to the right to lease, even if that right to lease has been transferred to another tenant - i.e. that the landlord's rights prevail. In such a case, ultimately a court would rule whether it was in accordance with the law (you cannot write out other people's legal rights).

I would agree with the concept of the right to renewal the lease (if I am not being mislead by practice in Belgium, which makes the distinction between renewal (at the same rent base (indexed) and a new lease (with a new rent)).

agree rkillings : But better 'leasehold right' rather than 'right to lease'.

disagree Attorney DC Bar : 'tout comme' is 'as well as to', not 'such as'. A 'credit bail' is a 'lease with a purchase option', not just a 'lease'. And a 'droit au bail' is not a 'right to lease', but rather a right to renewal of a lease, and it's worth money.
