I disagree with an earlier answer that translated "verins" as cylinders. More precisely "verins" are jacks inside cylinders, and "courses" would be thrust. Look at the following website to get a visual assist for what you are working with. www.doedijns.fr/PNCfr.pdf Without knowing what machinery is involved, I would suggest the sentence be translated something like this: The thrust of the tools jacks will be controlled (limited) by fixed stops.
