unbend / flatten out / straighten the locking washers [tabs]
this locking washer has a tab that once bent prevent the nuts form unscrewing.
to be able to unscrew the nut, you need to unbend / flatten out / straighten this tab.
there are other types of locking washers, but only this one would make sense if used to prevent a nut from unscrewing when it shouldn't.
Also, with other types you just have to put more effort in unscrewing, no need to do anything first to the locking washer.

Ah, that explains it I think. Thanks. I'm afraid it's too late to change the text because the translation was very urgent (aren't they all ?). |

remove locking washers
It's funny... effacer seems like a crappy machine (human?!) translated version of the english "remove" which out-of-context, might be translated to "effacer"
(...even google translate knows it's "retirer")
Look in google for "effacer rondelles" there are no examples. I'm pretty sure it means retirer/démonter. At worst, ask client and move on :)

: given the limited context can not disagree, but the way it's usually done you can't remove "les rondelles frein" before you unscrew totally the nuts (dévisser les écrous) - that being the whole point of this safety device!
