English to Tagalog Other Idioms / Maxims / Sayings Filipino English
Hi
During my time online dating with Filipinas, a number of ladies expressed their appreciation of the fact that I never asked any of them to undress on camera or anything like that. This includes my Filipina girlfriend who I am now living with in Lapulapu, by the way.
They always used the same expression with minor variations, “You no ask for rude” or “You never ask for rude” etc. etc.
So I am wondering what the Tagalog expression is that they most likely have in mind.
Best Wishes
Simon

hindi ka kailanman humiling ng (bagay na) bastos

Based on your explanation, for the word "rude," they might be referring to "bastos," i.e., "hindi ka kailanman humiling ng isang bagay na bastos o hindi desente." This is because one of the meanings of bastos is rude, ill-mannered, impolite or harsh. But, it also means indecent; improper; burlesque; vulgar. Considering the context, they might rather be referring to the latter.
