Ob du es dir nun um den Hals hängst [oder lieber an den Rückspiegel]

The above is a rather literal translation, and is using the more colloquial way of addressing others ("Du"), this latter seeming appropriate to me as I see paddleboard users seem as rather "cool" people ;)

Better ways of saying the same would involve a transformation of the sentence structure; I've given an example of this in the next section ("Beispielsätze").
Example sentence:

Du kannst es dir um den Hals hängen oder auch an den Rückspiegel, so oder so wird es dich überallhin begleiten.
