This answer is based on the above link and a person having good knowledge of Pashto and who helps others to learn Pashto has suggested it. It is astonishing if it is wrong.

disagree Qamar Ali Khan : Hello cannot be termed as Salamu Alaikum in Pashto. The best possible substitute for Hello in Pashto Is "Kha Charay", mostly used in N.W.F.P., Pakistan.
