voilà l'idée. je ne connais pas le mot "slugging" mais il y a "lugging", un terme familier qui veut dire "porter difficilement une lourde charge" et "slogging" - faire un travail dur qui exige un effort soutenu et difficle/pénible. A mon avis "slugging" est un mélange des deux!

Manoeuvrer péniblement le matériel dans la boue pour monter et descendre les remblais/talus
