I suppose, if you want to stick fairly literally to the original, it would be \'in twelfths\' rather then \'by...\' -- but I\'d suggest turning the phrase round a bit to make it sound more natural in English

I should perhaps add that \'refund\' would probably be a more accurate translation of \'ristourne\' --- \'rebate\' came off the top of my head (\'refund\' was of course the word I was hunting for!), but I must admit I was paying more attention to the \'par douzième\' bit.
