comparative civilizational sociology; sociology of comparative civilization
Although they are rather literal, names of academic fields are often like these. In fact, the title of the second link is "Journal of Global and Civilizational Sociology", and "civilizational sociology" is a legitimate field of study in sociology.

Clan, Caste, and Club: comparative study of civilizations
If I am not mistaken, this is the Japanese Title of Hsu's book, "Clan, Caste, and Club." I don't think it is a generic term of a study. The similar studies, I believe, are called "comparative study of civilizations." If you are translating the title of his book, you should use "Clan, Caste, and Club."
