I´ve never seen a shelf made of clay but the BP (whatever this is) is the clue. Could be barro português perhaps.

The research was a bit tortuous, but this is how I got there:

STEP 1: Google search “prateleira BP”

This suggested it could a type of melamine or melamine-faced board.

So, BP seems to stand for Baixa Pressão (Low Pressure).

Your BP is actually a very thin melamine layer (veneer) applied to board at low pressure.
