und dies gerichtet abstrahlen. Man kann Scheinwerfer nach verschiedenen Kriterien klassifizieren, beispielsweise nach der Bauart, nach der Anschlussleistung oder der Betriebsspannung oder nach der Farbtemperatur.
Fluter sind weit abstrahlende Scheinwerfer, die aus einem Brenner und einem Reflektor bestehen.
Beim Linsenscheinwerfer bündelt eine Linse das von der Lampe ausgestrahlte Licht. Er hat somit einen engeren Lichtkegel als ein Fluter. Durch Verschieben der Lampen/Spiegel-Gruppe gegenüber der Linse kann der Lichtkegel vergrößert oder verkleinert werden.
Translation - English Lanterns are instruments which convert electric current into light and
emit it in a given direction. Lanterns can be classified according to various criteria, for example, type of construction, connected load, operating voltage or colour temperature.
Floods are lanterns with a wide beam which comprise a lamp and a reflector.
Spots contain a lens which focuses the light emitted from the lamp. They therefore have narrower light cones than floods. The light cone can be made larger or smaller by changing the position of the lamp/mirror housing in relation to the lens.

I have experience working both as an in-house translator of German/Russian into English and as a freelance translator translating a wide variety of documents from technical manuals for the automotive industry through financial documents and annual reports to promotional material for multinational companies and prestigious events.
I have a very wide general knowledge which stems from varied work experience before starting my career in translation: this includes working in the accounts department of a well-known concrete manufacturer, English language teaching both in UK and abroad, market research, health promotion, catering and floristry.
When I'm not translating, I spend most of my time working within the entertainment world, providing technical support for indoor and outdoor events. I mainly deal with lighting, sound, pyrotechnics and set design & construction......... however, I have also trodden the boards once or twice myself.
In addition I have a keen interest in sports and outdoor activities in general and have worked as an outdoor activity instructor teaching children the art of rock climbing, abseiling, quad biking and the like.
