Source text - Japanese 「この世界から足を洗ったら、農業をやりたい」-。鳩山由紀夫首相は21日、都内で開かれた「こども食料セッション」で、政界引退後の夢の一端を明らかにした。
首相は席上、食料自給率向上についての小学生の質問に答え、「都会の人たちも農業の大切さを知ることは大事だ。みんなが前向きになることが自給率を必ず上げることになる」と強調。これに続き、引退後の「農業宣言」が飛び出した。
ただ、首相は偽装献金問題をめぐり野党から厳しい責任追及を受けているだけに、「すぐに(政界から)足を洗うということではない」とも述べ、進退問題に絡められないよう予防線を張った。

Translation - English 'After retirement, I want to start farming.' Japanese Prime Minister, Yukio Hatoyama, revealed his plan after the PM in 'the Kids Food Session' in Tokyo on 21 February.
The PM answered the questions about Japanese food self-sufficiency from pupils of elementary school. Underscoring the importance of understanding of urban population of the value of the agriculture, he emphasized their positive attitudes will surely improve the food self-sufficiency. And he revealed his future plan.
However, as the opposition parties fiercely criticize the PM for the false donation problem, the PM stated to his plan is quite irrelevant to his resignation right now.
