Source text - English SHANTILAL: They were all great dancers no doubt. But if you were to ask me as to which dancer gave me the utmost happiness and joy I would recall a young girl. She used to wake me up at three in the morning, take me to the river side and ask me to watch her dance. You know who I am talking about? Ayesha. She danced until sunrise and what a dance it was. That sight was more beautiful than any sunrise or sunset I have ever seen. If only I could watch Ayesha dance like that again, I can die in peace.
[Ayesha enters]
AYESHA: I hadn’t given up on you. I left because I wanted to pursue my dreams, but I got so wrapped up with my work.
SHANTILAL: Work? You call that work? No form, no substance, no foundation?
AYESHA: Why are you like this? Why do you have such double standards? You made your name in Bollywood, now you mock me for making my name there too.
SHANTILAL: So, what do you want me to say? That I have watched these village urchins sway their hips to your great moves. That I have seen your films on television, read your interviews in newspapers? Well done Ayesha, well done. There I said it.
[Entra Ayesha]
AYESHA: Yo no te he fallado. Me fui porque quería seguir mis sueños, pero he puesto punto final a mi trabajo.
SHANTILAL: ¿Trabajo?
Bien hecho, Ayesha, bien hecho. Ya lo dije.
