Translated and edited one page of Weekly magazine section of a leading news paper for about 52 weeks relating to sindhi literature, its presentation in hindi language on honourary basis. Basically a reader of all forms of literature in my mother toungue sindhi as well as in other languages such as hindi, urdu, english and gurumukhi(punjabi), I like to express myself in poems, essays, features. I feel great pleasure in translating master piece creations of other writers/authors of all the above languages I know.
I am of the opinion that while translating any peace of work, a translator should not try to interfere/change/manipulate the main idea of the author/composer of the work in question, and the translation work should not be done in a mechanical manner, instead it should be translated in such a way that a reader of the translated language can enjoy the taste of it as it is intended by the original writer/author/composer by preserving the style of putting the things/ situations and facts as near as possible to the style of creater of the peace of work. Though it is very difficut to preserve the style and manner of the original writer, but a translator should try his/her best to present the translation in such a way that reader may find it as if it is originally written in the translated language. |
