Bio
I am an undergraduate student currently working to complete my degrees in both German and French (as Foreign Languages with extended specializations in literature and culture).

I have spent the academic year 2007-2008 in Fribourg Switzerland on a study exchange to gain first hand experience of speaking and studying as a native in my chosen languages. (Fribourg is a bilingual city as well as a bilingual Canton)

While in Fribourg I have had the pleasure of being a stand-in consecutive interpreter (French - English, German-English) for friends, school excursions, and some tourists as well as participating in a German translation course. (Originally designed for native German speakers) It was there that I discovered my interest for translation and interpretation and decided to consider it as my future field of work.

I hope to continue after my undergrad stint on to a masters program. However, I have not decided if I would prefer a masters in French (or) German Literature and then hope to further my skills as a translator/interpreter on my own time or vice versa. I hope participating (and perusing) these forums will help me decide. :o)
