Source text - English If you are installing on Windows 2000, before you start to install AB E-mail F you need to disable and stop the SMTP Service. The SMTP Service is installed along with the Windows 2000 operating system, using port 25 by default. If you first attempt to start the E-mail F service, you will receive a message stating that port 25 (the port that the E-mail Filter uses) is already in use and the Service will not start. To disable the SMTP Service:
1. Open Control Panel from the Start menu.
2. Navigate to Services via Administrative Tools. Highlight the Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) entry and then double-click it. A dialog will appear:
3. From the Startup type list box select Disabled. Click the Stop button.
4. Click OK.
Windows 2000 also uses a web publishing service on port 80. Unless you are using this service, we would recommend that you also disable this. You can disable this feature in the same way as the SMTP service above. Once these two services are disabled, you will be able to start the E-mail F service.
