German term

Strukturschneide

German to English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering Scissors
"ABC - Mit der neuen Strukturschneide: weiches und dynamisches Texturieren"

"Produkteigenschaften: • neue ABC-Struktur-Schneide für besonders weichen Schnitt durch
• große Fangräume
• stützenden Führungszahn
• 15 Zähne in Blockzahnung mit griffiger Mikrofeinverzahnung"

From a text about scissors. Strukturschneide appears either as one word or hypenated, as in the second example. I have absolutely no idea what they're on about and cannot find a translation for this anywhere. TIA for your help.

Discussion

Rowan Morrell (asker) Dec 10, 2009:
I don't know The text doesn't specify.
Raoul COLIN (X) Dec 10, 2009:
metal working or plastic/textile cutting on which material will these "Schneide" be used?

Peer comment(s):

agree Steffen Walter : Could the blade/shears then not be "textured" themselves? Wouldn't this be another possible translation? / Texturieren = texturizing

suppose so, could be textured or contoured themselves...
agree Gunter Prediger : Yes - pretty close. The following link gives you an idea on what they are talking about:http://www.shop.superhaar.de/tondeo-friseurscheren/tondeo-e-...

agree John Jory : These hardressing tools are mostly called "thinning scissors/shears". They are used to shape/structure a haircut and have between 15 and 30 teeth. One example of thousands: www.carefair.com/beauty/beauty-tools/guide_to_thinning_shea...
