Dear all, in last weeks I was 'fighting' with several texts concerning HR in general (not too bad) and specifically the different parts of the salary/wage. Non only a boring job, but a really hard one! Does anyone have suggestions for me (glossary, any other referring material - on line or not)? Possibly German as source language, IT,FR as arrival ones (Swiss material would be perfect, of course. But any other recommendation related to EN materials is highly appreciate... First, you can seek many words on Proz made/commented/compiled by Proz users. I frequently use it. On top of this page, you can fill in the words you want to refer to. Regards, Soonthon L.
Pat Jenner (X) Local time: 06:17 German to English + ... Series of bilingual glossaries | Jun 30, 2008 |
I sympathise! These tasks can be very tricky due to the different employment law systems. There is a set of glossaries on employment and industrial relations published by Sweet and Maxwell, English and one other language (arranged by country), giving both a translation of the term and, more usefully, an explanation of what it means. The ISBN for the Germany edition is 0-421-44830-X (as this is an EU series I don't know whether there is an edition for Switzerland). Hope that helps.
