I\'m currently doing a translation on the topic mentioned in the header. Does anyone know of any good glossaries or websites that they could recommend - some of the terms are extremely hard to find in my 2 technical dictionaries and I\'m not having much luck with leo and dicdata either.



Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

This is Transport Canada\'s site, and as you\'ll see on the left hand side, there is a French button. Everything on the site should be in French and English.

I don\'t know a glossary which is so specific, and I would be surprised to learn that such a glossary even exists outside the well-shut offices of a handful of highly specialized manufacturers and patent translators.

Here is what I would do: Search the Euro NCAP website http://www.euroncap.com (English only). This is the organization that carries out crash tests for Europe. They provide extensive testing documentation and protocols. Rushing through I saw that under http://www.euroncap.com/protocols/EuroNCAP_Frontal_Protocol_3_1.pdf, for example, there is something about Hybrid III test dummies, dummy certification etc. The EuroNCAP\'s US counterpart in the field of crash tests is the NHTSA: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov.

When it comes to translating things are even more difficult. (More or less) parallel texts on automotive issues can be found at GM\'s site, such as http://www.gm.com/company/gmability/safety/driving_safety_innovations/dummies/dummy1_010702_de.html (German) and http://www.gm.com/company/gmability/safety/driving_safety_innovations/dummies/dummy1_010702_fr.html (French).

I also found articles on crash test dummies in the Mercedes magazine under http://www.mercedes-benz.com/d/service/magazin/technik_003_1.htm(in German), chez Renault http://www.conceptsecurite.renault.fr/chocs/finx4a.htm and under http://www.crash-test.org (both in French).
