Shoulder dystocia is often encountered during an operative vaginal delivery. In a study, the combination of macrosomia, prolonged second stage, and midpelvic operative delivery was associated with 21 percent incidence of shoulder dystocia.

中骨盤腔鉗子分娩 / katakana (for midpelvic) + 鉗子分娩 / or (in a very general sense) 鉗子分娩

"Midplevic delivery" refers to some type of "assisted delivery" involving rotation (of the feotus) through the mid-pelvic cavity with forceps or vacuum methods.

According to an article entry from the "American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists" website (and other sources), "midpelvic opertative delivery" and "midpelvic delivery" mean the same thing.

According to one PubMed article, Keilland's forceps delivery (キーランド鉗子分娩) falls into this category of operative delivery.

Rotational delivery with Kielland's forceps.
Chow SL, Johnson CM, Anderson TD, Hughes JH.

A retrospective study over 15 months showed that 10.7% of primigravid women and 1.6% of multigravid women were delivered by Kielland's forceps: a total of 145 babies. The successful vaginal delivery rate for attempted Kielland's forceps was 96.7%. The neonatal outcome was good and there were no perinatal deaths. Traumatic injuries were present in 7.6% of babies and were minor. The data show that even in the presence of fetal distress, Kielland's forceps can be safely employed for rotational delivery from the mid-pelvic cavity.

The treatise also states that a study conducted by "Benedetti and Gabbe (1978) reported that with a prolonged second stage of labor and a midpelvic delivery (vacuum extraction or midforceps delivery), the incidence of shoulder dystocia" increased. We accordingly conclude that Schulman's testimony finds support in J. Williams, Obstetrics

Modified manual rotation in midpelvic delivery.

A relatively atraumatic and simple technique for forceps rotation of the vertex is described for use when spontaneous rotation has failed to occur. The technique consists of applying the Laufe forceps as in a Scanzoni application to achieve maximum flexion of the vertex. The forceps blade is used only as an attachment for the finger rotation. No twisting of the forceps handle is required.

A retrospective analysis of low-pelvic and midpelvic operative deliveries (according to the new definitions by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, 1989) matched with cesarean section deliveries of similar station was undertaken. In all vaginally delivered groups there was significantly decreased maternal morbidity, maternal hospital stay, and estimated blood loss. In the midpelvic deliveries, there was a significant increase in the frequency of neonatal resuscitation and an increase in base deficit for the umbilical artery.
