размахивать саблей (шпагой) Explanation: Вообще-то это всего лишь литературный перевод, потому что само выражение происходит из ругательства swash my buckle (кстати, отсюда же слово swashbuckler - головорез, разбойник. Примерный перевод: Но никто не размахивал саблей более убедительно, чем Эррол Флинн, который снялся по крайней мере в двух признанных классических лентах: "Капитан Блад" (его дебют в 1935 году) и "Морской ястреб" (1940). Перевести это выражение более жестоко не позволяет сама личность героев Эррола Флинна, который играл благородных разбойников - доктора Питера Блада и Джеффри Торпа. |

пиратствовал Explanation: Вот, отрыл в Urban: to buckle swashes, to fight with swords brutally and in full pirate regalia (must include dagger, sword, eye patch, peg leg, great big pirate captain hat, parrot...you know, the works.)
