Es geht hier um eine Scheidungsurkunde aus Australien. Unter der Überschrift "Notes" ist folgender Satz zu lesen:

"If a party to the marriage proposes to make any application to the Court as to property or as to the maintenance of that party such application must be made within 12 months of the divorce order taking effect."

Mir geht es um den ersten Teil des Satzes:
"If a party to the marriage proposes to make any application to the Court as to property or as to the maintenance of that party ..."

Mir fällt einfach keine griffige Übersetzung für "application as to property or as to the maintenance of that party" ein. Und wer ist hier eigentlich mit "that party" gemeint? Der Antragsteller oder der Antragsgegner?

Für eure Hilfe bedanke ich mich schon jetzt recht herzlich im Voraus.

Meiner Ansicht nach bezieht sich "that" auf den Antragsteller. Wenn es sich auf den Antragsgegner beziehen würde, müsste es "the other party" heißen. Außerdem muss der Antragsteller dafür sorgen, dass der Antrag fristgerecht gestellt wird.

Bei der Übersetzung bin ich mir nicht sicher, weil ich normalerweise mit Wirtschaftsrecht zu tun habe.
