The process of collections relates to the handling of cheques, bills of exchange and direct debit that takes place in the framework of financial transactions. This handling includes the final settlement of the collection.

Out of scope are:
The physical transportation & distribution aspects of cheques and bills of exchange, as valuables. This is in scope of the process � physical handling of cash, securities, cards & other valuables.
The credit related aspects of cheques, bills of exchange and direct debit, are in scope of the process �Credits�
Also out of scope are the bilateral and multilateral clearing agreements that are included in the process �Customer administration for professional customers�.
The processing of Documentary Collections import and Documentary Collections export (in scope of the process �Trade Finance)
