French to English translations [Non-PRO]
Science - Botany / Horticulture
French term or phrase: plantation
The sentence is: "Élimination des herbes indésirables dans les plantations."

My problem is with the word "plantation." It is not a "plantation," like a coffee plantation. The area is simply an area where plants and shrubs are planted, as opposed to the sandy area that it is separated from. What would I call this area in English?

The sentence comes from a landscaping contract.

agree  John Speese: Planted areas sounds good, just "plantings" might be another option.
