These would be the originals from which the films for offset pribntibng are made.
Typesetter would not be correct, as typesetting is not a DTP (Desk Top Publishing) function.
Nowadays, under DTP, text and pictures are combined in one "layout", that is subsequently transferred digitally to a printing plate, or a film for making a printing plate.
