chess board 将棋盤
I think "chess board" would be the best way to translate it for an English speaking audience. Specifying "shogi board" or "Japanese chess board" would lose some of the original nuance.

: Hi David - I originally thought the same, but opted for the literal translation with a note since she provided so little context. Chess board is definitely a very good possibility for the appropriate translation.
