Nažalost nema konteksta. Kod mikroskopiranja taj sustav omogućava drift compensation. Javlja mi se i thermal drifft.

drifting je kod automobila skretanje zanošenjem. Ovdje pretpostavljam de se radi o zanošenju uzorka izvan vidnog polja pomicanjem ispitnog stakalca, mikroskopa ili sl.
