Por favor, ajudem com essa questão. Estou trabalhando em um artigo sobre uma obra de Patrick Charaudeau, de análise de discurso. Na teoria dele, mais especificamente no livro "La laïcité dans l'arène médiatique. Cartographie d'une controverse sociale", existe o termo "laicidade", em francês "laïcité". Alguns lugares traduzem "laicidade" por "secularism", mas não fiquei contente com a solução encontrada, e não me parece muito legítima. Me parece que se perde muito com "secularism", até porque temos um termo em português para essa mesma palavra, "secularismo".

Acabei encontrando "laicism" também, mas não sei se procede a informação. É um termo específico. O contexto é:

"Este livro é um conjunto de análises sobre mídias e expõe a história e sociologia da laicidade na França."
