In the event of a collision with a pedestrian, the Pedestrian Protection system will determine whether a pedestrian has been impacted by the vehicle. The Pedestrian Protection system does this by using two pressure sensors connected by a tube within the foam fitted along the bumper, in conjunction with three accelerometers fitted in the front lower bumper area.
