Drive test equipment continues to be useful for radio link analysis, but the majority of data services problems are occurring in layers other than the radio link layer. Furthermore, drive tests systems are best for in-vehicle emulation of users. Drive test data cannot capture the experience of actual users and it is very inefficient to use these systems to emulate pedestrian and in-building users.
