David BUICK (asker) Feb 20, 2008:
Post-grading: in a 'l'esprit d'escalier' moment I've just come across the abbreviation and the phrase in a document going the other way and edited the glossary entry accordingly.
David BUICK (asker) Feb 15, 2008:
Thanks for reversing the pair :o

I found this too, but not enough of them to reassure me as yet!
David Goward Feb 15, 2008:
I've reversed the pair because I assume you're looking for the French term?
E&IC seems to stand for Electrical and/or Instrumentation & Control (cf. http://friendsofreservoirs.org/resources/MWHFinalScopeofWork...

commande-contrôle (électrique)

As stated above, E&IC seems to stand for Electrical and/or Instrumentation & Control.

Instrumentation & Control is "commande-contrôle", but not sure how "électrique" fits in there (if indeed it does).

A "piste" for you anyway.
Note from asker:
I'm wondering about "automatisme" pure and simple. Any thoughts?
