**BOTTLING UP** THE STEAM GENERATOR


This section is added to this manual to provide guidelines for implementing a process to shut down the XXX boiler and maintain as much heat and steam pressure as possible for a short period. This hot shut down process is called ***"bottling up"*** the steam generator.

DEFINITION

***BOTTLING UP***: Isolating the steam generator's steam, water, air and gas circuits following a trip or hot shut down retaining steam-side/water-side pressure and gas-side temperatures.
