Ernestai, you seem to forget that these words will appear in a well-defined linguistically-oriented context. What might be misleading elsewhere, will be very clear in a context of this kind.

Diana, the reason is the same as why we don't say "iš naujo apaukite savo sistemą batais" ("please reboot your system") after installing some application in our PCs, etc. As for VLKK discussion, it looks a weaker form of what we are doing here. :-)

Can't understand why ordinary French, German and English users make sense of 'faux amis', 'falsche Freunde' and 'false friends', and an ordinary Lithuanian user won't make sense of 'netikri draugai'...

I still recommend to use something different than word-for-word translation that does not make much sense to user. If my suggestion is too long, another options may be: "kita reikšmė!" ("another meaning!") or „ne ta pati reikšmė" ("not the same meaning").

Now I'm pretty overwhelmed with the number of answers and the fact that nobody has agreed with anyone else... That's weird...

Anyway, the context I want to use this is a user interface option in LanguageTool - this is a part of the name of a rule that detects possible false friends. So this should be concise and clear. You can see the user interface in a Java Web Start version at www.languagetool.org (BTW, we don't have too many rules for Lithuanian, so if you want to contribute, please feel free to do so).
