Netikras and tariamas express the same idea in the given context.
Vertėjo means translator's.
Also suits the context :-)

Comment: "This seems most straightforward to me. I'm going to use this (in "netikras draugas" version).
Thank you all for your help! :)"

netikras draugas/draugelis
I personally haven't heard it used in this context, but it seems reasonable that it could be. Other translators will no doubt comment on this.
Example sentence:
Nepasitikėkite „netikrų draugelių“ – žodžių, kurie panašūs į kitos kalbos žodžios,
bet turi kitą prasmę.

netikrasis draugas

I have a Lithuanian-Latvian phrasebook under my hand. There is a section "Atsargiai – kita reikšmė!", where many words in Lithuanian and Latvian are listed, which are similar phonetically, but different in meaning. So, I would suggest to use this term "kita reikšmė" ("another meaning") from heading. Full translation of "false friend" could be "kitareikšmis žodis" ("another meaning word").
I did not notice anywhere the translations suggested by my colleagues, neither in written nor in spoken form. Ambiguous suggestions that include words "netikras(is) draugas/draugelis" are just word-for-word translations and thus are not recommended.

: It may be a word-for-word translation - just like 'false friends' is a word-for-word translation of 'faux amis'; however, it expresses the meaning very accurately.

Yes, it is perfectly fine from linguistical point! However, at the functional level, "ordinary" user will not catch the point, what "netikras draugas" is supposed to mean in asker's website/application interface.

: The phrase "false cognates" is also sometimes inaccurately used to mean "false friends", and vice versa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_friend).

Discussion
Anyway, the context I want to use this is a user interface option in LanguageTool - this is a part of the name of a rule that detects possible false friends. So this should be concise and clear. You can see the user interface in a Java Web Start version at www.languagetool.org (BTW, we don't have too many rules for Lithuanian, so if you want to contribute, please feel free to do so).
