pump sump/lowerable flap/cover/lid

The Schöpfgrube is a small concrete-lined pit in the lowest part of the basement that is used to collect floodwater etc. so that it can easily be pumped out.

As for Senkklappe, I can only assume that it is a senkbare Klappe (lowerable flap/cover/lid which probably covers the pump sump. We have this set up in our cellar. The sump needs a cover so you don't fall in the hole!

sump

The Schöpfgrube is the sump in which liquids are collected in the lowest part of a building or site.

Sorry, but the Senkklappe has me stumped.
