I have never heard or seen a phrase "hunt failure" in such a context. The closest I can think of is detection, lookup , or search.

If it is in a list of error codes, I am pretty confident that NG in this case means "No Good".
I am not sure about the others though.... BB may stand for Broadband? Again, i'm only guessing here and it's hard without the full context.
