attorney

According to Law Dictionary of Maria Chaves de Mello, procurador is defined as attorney, e.g.:
procurador da União - District Attorney;
procurador do Estado - State Attorney
procurador especial - Proxy
procurador extrajudicial - Attorney in fact
procurador Geral - Attorney General
procurador Judicial - Attorney of record, attorney at law, counsel, counsellor

Corporate counsel

This is a standard term, often seen in annual reports. (The English phrase works in the singular and the plural, so you can append it after an individual's name, after the names of two or more individuals, or after the name of a law firm.) -- Best regards, HC

legal representative

"procurador" is the person to whom was given the power of attorney to represent another person or a company. I believe the best direct translation is "legal representative"

Representative

A "procurador" is a person to whom you give a "power of attorney", in other words, the legal right to represent you in a specific circumstance. That person doesn't have to be a lawyer, solicitor or attorney. If you are a minor, you'll have to give that "power of attorney" to somebody else. The same applies if you are impaired due to physical or mental illness. The "procurador" acts on your behalf, and is threfore your representative. However, he's not really acting as your "legal" representative. His power of attorney is limited to the act for which he was empowered. He is acting on your behalf, as your "representative", but not necessarily as your "legal representative".

Notário

This is an addendum to my previous reply:
The “Composição Acionária” of that company is odd, to say the least: “Presidente, Diretor, Diretor Geral, and Procuradores”. However, the “Procuradores” (acionistas???, hehehe) are the people to whom they gave the "power of attorney" to act on their behalf in situations, either abroad or where they were, for some reason or another, unable to take those decisions themselves. For the lack of a better word, try Notário. But please, if you have the time e-mail me the correct answer, if you ever find it: [email protected]. Thanks and good luck!
