One of the necessities more shrewdly felt within the framework of a degree in Right is the one to provide to the students a formation that is not limited the transmission of a assembly of knowledge of theoretical order, but that, further on, also facilitates to the students the main abilities that these will require in the professional exercise of the legal occupations. The practical formation constitutes therefore a decisive element, if what is tried it is to offer a preparation that allows to enter with probabilities of success in the labor market.

He is frequent that the acquisition of these practical abilities does not take place once but finalized the studies. In effect, to provide a suitable practical formation that —y facilitates to the student the necessary knowledge for the daily exercise of the diverse legal professions not the mere study or solution of cases prácticos— it is from certain complexity in the degree, and often pasantía in a professional office or other legal dependencies is only reached dedicating one season to the physical accomplishment of one. This way, the practices suppose an exit of the classrooms to enter the field of the real application of the Right, and consequently constitute a formation that the university does not manage to offer directly.
The designed Practicum and start up in the Studies of Right of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya try to resolve these disadvantages and of allowing to the students, in the own degree and with the aid of the technologies of the information, to personally experience the concrete application of the Right in of the habitual tasks of the legal professionals, that is to say, offering an incursion to them in the reality of the exercise of the Right.

Una de las necesidades más agudamente sentidas en el marco de una licenciatura en Derecho es la de proporcionar a los estudiantes una formación que no se limite a la transmisión de un conjunto de conocimientos de orden teórico, sino que, más allá, facilite también a los alumnos las principales habilidades que éstos requerirán en el ejercicio profesional de las ocupaciones jurídicas. La formación práctica constituye por tanto un elemento decisivo, si lo que se pretende es ofrecer una preparación que permita ingresar con probabilidades de éxito en el mercado laboral.

Es frecuente que la adquisición de estas habilidades prácticas no se produzca sino una vez finalizados los estudios. En efecto, proporcionar una adecuada formación práctica que facilite al estudiante los conocimientos necesarios para el ejercicio diario de las diversas profesiones jurídicas —y no el mero estudio o solución de casos prácticos— resulta de cierta complejidad en el seno de la licenciatura, y a menudo tan sólo se alcanza dedicando una temporada a la realización de una pasantía física en un despacho profesional o en otras dependencias jurídicas. De este modo, las prácticas suponen una salida de las aulas para entrar en el campo de la aplicación real del Derecho, y constituyen en consecuencia una formación que la universidad no logra ofrecer directamente.
El Practicum diseñado y puesto en marcha en los Estudios de Derecho de la Universitat Oberta de Catalunya pretende solventar estos inconvenientes y permitir a los estudiantes, en el seno de la propia licenciatura y con la ayuda de las tecnologías de la información, experimentar personalmente la aplicación concreta del Derecho en de las tareas habituales de los profesionales jurídicos, esto es, ofrecerles una incursión en la realidad del ejercicio del Derecho.
