About me
Background:
Born in Bogotá, Colombia. Raised bilingually by British father and Colombian mother. Schooling combined American school in Bogotá and traditional Colombian school.
Sociology and Anthropology major at university, in Colombia. Additional Sociology courses at Tufts University. Years later, a degree in Early Childhood Education, in Colombia.
Since my student days, I engaged in social work in underprivileged communities in Bogotá. Several years later, I worked in rural areas near Medellín as Project Director for the Colombian branch of Futures for Children, USA.
After obtaining my degree in Education, I devoted myself to teaching English as a Second Language in several schools in Bogotá.
All of the above required my abilities as a translator and interpreter. Upon retiring from teaching in 2001, I became a freelance translator specializing mainly in the fields related to my previous activities.
