Sorry to ask such an easy question, but I've never quite known what this means. Does it just mean a period of one month may be given by either side? Does it mean the contract may only be terminated at the end of a year?

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

: yes, but just "at the end of the year" or possibly "at the end of any year" - not "each year" because you can only do it once, not repeatedly year after year (and it doesn't say jedes Jahr in German)

THX, it says "jeweils", one year follows the other with some degree of predictable conformity, and a termination is a termination is a ... ;-)
