Ave, latinistas!

Bueno, mi consulta es (otra vez) más gramatical que de traducción.

El párrafo es:

Mox regem Indorum et omnes Asiae gentes sub potestate sua redegit et nobiles urbes Asiae cepit: Sardes, Bactra, Susa, Babyloniam; multas tribus barbaras subegit; ad sinum Persicum pervenit.

Mi trabajo (práctico) consiste en traducir al español y analizar gramaticalmente el latín.
En la parte final *ad sinum Persicum pervenit*
traduje: ...llegó hasta el golfo Pérsico.

Ahora bien, AD SINUM PERSICUM, ¿es un locus quo? Imagino que no, por que sé que los locus quo son los que se traducen con preposiciones que indican dirección (hacia).
¿Es otro tipo de locus?

es un locus quo sin duda: la preposición "AD" es SIEMPRE de dirección "hacia". Aunque en español no digamos "llegó hacia el golfo", sí lo decían los romanos, pero nosotros lo traducimos como "llegó hasta (al) el Golfo".

"Ad" va siempre con acusativo y siempre tiene sentido de dirección "hacia", físico o figurado.
