French term

section AD

French to English Bus/Financial Real Estate Product marketing
From a property sale contract. The address of the property is stated followed by "(Section AD no. XXX)"

I think this refers to the property's entry in the Land Registry, but what does "AD" actually stand for?

Section AD

I don't think it means anything. It is just a grid reference on a plan. If you google on "section AA", "section AB", "section BA", section "CC", etc., they all get hits on different land descriptions.

The following was selected at random from a text found on Google: - Boulevard Diderot
- Impasse de l’Esquirou
- Parcelle section BA n°138
- Parcelle section BA n°283
- Avenue des Abrivados
- Rue de la Ferrade jusqu’à la parcelle section BB n°21
- Parcelle section BB n°27
- Parcelle section BB n°13

(cadastral) section AD

section is the term used for the sub-areas in the French cadastral system, the hierarchy of which is: division; section; and parcelle (number). Sections are frequently identified by letters, particularly in Belgium.

agree Paul Appleyard (X) : Sorry I got there first, but at least we both said the same thing!
