sticking stamps in a dividend book Explanation: British English for those old enough to remember the Co-op dividend stamps. I would certainly say ‘stick’ because stamps have adhesive gum on the back. ‘Pasting’ suggests that glue is applied separately. “Dividend Stamps had served the Society well since 1968 and had always been well received by Members. After very detailed consideration of all the alternatives the Board took the decision in 1997 to replace Dividend Stamps with a plastic ‘smart card’ system which saw stamps converted to Dividend Points.” http://www.lincoln.coop/history/1996.htm |
