German term

Baumeisterarbeit

German to English Bus/Financial Construction / Civil Engineering Construction tender
This again is from a tender application and this is one of a list of costs given by the potential developer. Does this mean work by an architect? This is Swiss German btw.

Planning, building site management

This is the definition from Wiki :

Since this is a term hovering between "architect and engineer" there is probably no direct English term, so I suggest one of the above. As I am currently involved in renovations with a Baumeister who is managing the work (after it was discussed with an architect) I can assure the term is common in Switzerland, and planning and management is what the Baumeister is doing for me.

agree Ingeborg Gowans (X) : you seem to be on the right track here, esp. with personal experience

agree monbuckland : Site manager, project manager - it's the person in charge of the construction works. (Who could even be the architect, in a smaller project.)

Work done by a master builder

I rather doubt he would be very impressed by just being called an "expert" - googles 765,000 times....

neutral Kim Metzger : Shades of Ibsen? I don't think you'd find the term used in a tender application these days.

disagree monbuckland : Sorry, but a Baumeister is NOT a master builder
