Hi there! Ive done some research tonight among my scouse native speakers. The phrase means that someone's been off from that date onwards. It can be replaced by a more formal phrase: he's been booked off from... till...
I would not rely on what the PWN-Oxford says. ... Like curfew!!!! I've been a court interpreter for a year and i know it doesnt have to mean godz policyjna!!! (learnt it from a friend here on proz.com. TA!!! ;-)
