Se pare ca termenul "weight of development" este tradus in engleza dintr-o alta limba, pentru ca nu apare deloc la cautari. Eu as traduce intreaga sintagma prin "greul dezvoltarii" (un calc?) si vedeti si niste referinte:
Veţi afla cu surprindere că ruşii au dus greul dezvoltării holografiei şi că au fost recunoscuţi şi premiaţi de americani.

Acestea sunt cateva dintre intrebarile care au primit un raspuns in cadrul intalnirilor dintre reprezentantii Programului "Unde Ma Asigur?" si liderii pietei locale de asigurari. Judetul este clar dominat de municipiul resedinta care duce greul dezvoltarii economice la nivel local.

Hm, nu-mi dau seama cum de mi-a scapat :) Dar, in toata "gramada", se pot gasi extrem de multe exemple in care termenul functioaneaza exact ca "greul dezvoltarii" in contextele postate mai sus.
sa zicem : The total weight of development cannot be placed entirely on the shoulders of the rural population. The members of the rural university try to avoid the danger of assuming that the farmers by themselves can bring about a great deal of change.
