German term
Signalanhebungen
German to English
Medical
Orthopdie
Also: Small round signaled elevations in the STIR sequence of the humeral head.

signal augmentation
of
"signal intensification"
(both are used nearly exclusively in singular),
or probably better
"augmented signals".

to cope with the plural I would suggest:
\"(round) areas of signal augmentation\"

this is a good text to view the \"signal\" in this context in its varous uses. Often say speek of signal intensity (which would make intensification a good choice). Another nice word is enhancement, but this is +/- reserved for situations where contrast agents are used.

Comment: "Thanks a lot, Elisabeth. The Kienbock article was also very interesting and full of valuable information.
