Italiano term

prese di luce

Da Italiano a Inglese Arte/Letteratura Architettura Building underground
"Tutta la distribuzione, gli accessi, le scale e le *prese di luce* sarebbero stati ricavati
all’interno di un giardino “formale" .....

After initial shock (I was thinking of 'prese di luce' being sockets!), I realized these are presumably souces of (natural) light, such as pavement lights etc....
Is there a broad term I should use, such as '(natural) light sources, or is there some specific equivalent, e.g. pavement lights ?

@ Phil could well be - I was looking for confirmation from someone familiar with building terms - maybe when building underground it is used for a specific type of lighting - and is 'vetrocemento' for example a 'natural light inlet'? And would it also constitute a 'light well', or does that only refer to shafts where you go from an opening in the roof via reflecting tubes and deflect light into the room?... and so on..

I think you've answered your own question with "natural light sources".

lightwells

"The Royal Liver Building is symmetrical in plan, with entrances on all four elevations, and two large internal lightwells. "

Recently I saw a TV programme about this building and they used the term lightwells.

natural light inlets

As I think the source should be "Sun"...

Natural light wells/openings

I think "wells" is the most commonly used though "openings for natural light" is also used. Not necessarily "windows" but other openings or wells such as skylights/translucent panels etc.
