French to English Medical Medical: Instruments

I am translating a series of responses to questions about how a company is viewed in terms of its provision of healthcare equipment and how users view it compared to competitors. There are lots of spelling errors, but I have managed to work out what most of them mean. This has me stumped - and as it comes up twice, I have a suspicion that the word I'm looking for sounds a bit similar or is perhaps a slang term - any suggestions gratefully received, thanks.
