English term

switching location vs off-site

English to German Tech/Engineering Transport / Transportation / Shipping
It´s about railway power supply. Is there a difference between the two terms?

switching equipment, sorry Wurde im Referenzmaterial mit dem gleichen Begriff wie die off-site übersetzt. Ist das richtig? Bzw. was ist hier genau die off-site?
Charlotte Blank Feb 19, 2004:
wo ist die switching location?
Non-ProZ.com Feb 19, 2004:
Here you are 1) Definition of project guidelines and assignment coordination for the maintenance, monitoring, commissioning and operational function of facilities for overhead conductor lines, off-sites and feedback units, rectifier substations and signalling and point systems.
2) The construction of an overhead contact system with a catenary designed for a speed of 250 km/h along most of the double track network, including relevant power supply and switching equipment.
The extracts are from two different texs, but both terms have been previously translated on the same way

Sorry, K., but we'll have to have more context here; even the question doesn't make sense....
