Ranking/Credit

@ BD Finch, I also saw that web page, and on it found the Vietnamese word "Khá", which had been translated on my document as "Credit" but appears to mean "Good", and so translated it as "Bien" which suited my client.
A roundabout way of getting there, but it worked!

might mean having been "credited with a mention", i.e. not simply pass, but get some additional mention, like "excellent" / "with honours".

Only a guess, as it's tricky to get into the logic of someone translating with dictionaries / limited understanding of the target language and following the logic of the source language!

or it could mean "has accumulated enough credit hours" to be awarded the degree??

The English is not very good (e.g. "Major in: General nurse" would have been better as "Major: General nursing" and "Ranking" should probably be "Grade"). It would certainly have been preferable for the translation into French to have been from the Vietnamese original.

Note that, according to the information in the Wikipedia article below, neither "credit" nor "merit" features in the list of grades.

From the above: "Associates degrees require two to three and half years of full-time study – or 100 to 180 credits – at a junior college; most typically three years."

Maybe credits (with x hours of). Only other suggestion is that it is a mistranslation of "merit" (which would make sense as a grade).

Credit = unité de valeur (ou d'enseignement)
Je pense que cela signifie que la personne est reçue, mais sans mention.
